 Well, I'm very behind in documenting anything so I'll start with a big ol' post that will just highlight the month of October.

October is one of my favorite months. Beautiful weather, Autumn colors, most of the bugs have cleared out.

We spent some good time in the yard...

 ...during which I found some cool fungi...

...Evie is cute and we were able to celebrate Ron's birthday with him a little early as he was in town to visit...

...Evie, McKay, and I joined Des on his first field trip; it was to a pumpkin patch...

...we celebrated McKay's first birthday in a super low-key way...

...and then there was Halloween: the ward trunk-or-treat, trick-or-treating in the neighborhood.

{sparkly shoes Evie received last Christmas were the perfect 'glass slippers'}

Trick-or-treating in our neighborhood happens mainly by golf cart, and many people (like our neighbors shown below) hang out at the end of the driveway.
Most kids skipped our house because (gasp!) they had to come all the way to our door, but it worked out well because the pictured neighbors were running low on candy a couple times so they would text and we'd refill their bucket....we didn't end up with a ton of leftovers (win!) and they didn't run out (win!).

Oh, and I also wanted to record for memory 'Izzy' the neighbors spider.
The kids were super frightened of her at first, but after a little bit they loved her and said good morning and good night to her every day and still talk about her a month and a half after being put away.
Silly, silly.
