andrew + jade wedding week

 

We drove down to Orlando for a week of family time and to be there for Andrew's wedding.

{we all stayed in a large rented house, best way to do a reunion}

{Most of the guys did a day at LEGOland Tuesday.}

{Orlando in July is hot, so they melted by the afternoon and came home to swim}

{while with family we had Evie's baptism}

{it was Curt's 40th birthday too, so we got a cake that covered all the things}

{the girls did a day at Disney World. Jade and her family are Disney superfans. We did something called Disneybounding, which is wearing the color blocks of characters as our clothing...Evie was Aurora, I was Maleficent, Taylor Jasmine, Alison Snow White}

{again, hard to describe how oppressive the heat was...we did ice cream, and took advantage of air conditioning when we could. My little group petered out in the afternoon and headed home, a bunch of the larger group mustered up the stamina to stay clear to the fireworks at the end of the night}

{Friday morning Jade arranged for the girls to get princess makeup and hair done}

{many of the bedrooms had Disney themes going on in them}

{and then Saturday was the big day, sealing at the Orlando temple in the morning, dinner reception in the evening}

{Grandpa Hogie did the sealing...has performed the marriage of a lot of grandkids, including mine}

{many things went un-documented...good meals, movie nights, so many hours in the pool, doing puzzles at the puzzle table upstairs.

But then our time together was up and we drove home.}
