One good thing about having the baby before Mom got here was that I was physically recovered enough to take her to our favorite beach for a long weekend.
We headed down to Sandestin, Florida on the Saturday of President's Day weekend and came back Tuesday.
Saturday also happened to be Desmond's 6th birthday, so we broke out the cake we had brought to celebrate with.
{like our kids cups? the only plastic cups in our Airbnb}
We stayed right on the beach. The views were amazing.
I love going in the Spring and Autumn, I think it's the perfect temperature and there are no crowds.
Sunday we went to the little Sandestin chapel for church and then played all day in the sun.
Well, the kids did...the new baby and I were in the shade.
We chose the days of this trip to be in between two forecasted storms and it worked out great.
Early mornings were misty before the sun came up and burned it away.
Monday was another play day with a break for naps.
We woke up Tuesday morning to a storm rolling in.
I think the storm was just as pretty as the sunshine.
We packed up and stopped by the Donut Hole on the way out.
One of my favorite breakfast diners in all the world, such good food.
We had such a nice time that Mom might be convinced to come do it again some time :)
