Little Desmond was born at 3:46am on Friday, February 18th and I am smitten.
Brief overview:
My water broke at work on Thursday morning at about 10am (no worries, no embarrassing waterfall or ensuing puddles).
I walked to lunch with co-workers and had a nice hearty hamburger and fries in an effort to be sustained through labor (after responsibly checking in with the hospital labor and delivery triage of course).
Curt came and we went to the hospital after lunch.
...and I walked and walked and walked...
around the hospital in a gown to get contractions going.
I was at a 4 at 10:00pm
6 at midnight
8 at 1:00am
10 at 1:30am
But then the baby was turned a little funny so I got to push for almost two and a half hours.
Did I mention I didn't get an epidural? by choice?
I was so happy that that worked out.
Curt was great through the entire thing. I almost squeezed his hands off I'm sure.
He was 8 pounds 5 ounces and 20 inches long.
And he's here, and adorable, and I love him.
...and I attempt to kiss his cheeks off daily.
Life is good.

Oh Carmen, I can't believe you went natural! The big question is, would you do it again? You're Superwoman. LOVE the name! He is such a cutie! Congrats!!!

@Jen - the answer to that question is yes, I want to go natural again. I liked having the feedback from my body as everything was happening.
