Front Guest Room: Painting Walls

Before: Guest bedroom, Dec. 2008

I had been planning a grey/beige-ish color for this room, but during one of my recent trips to Home Depot I noticed a new display of Martha Stewart colors in the paint department and fell in love with a grey/blue called Winter's Day (MSL269).  I hadn't planned on buying paint that day, or on painting this room right now for that matter, but I had them color match the paint into Behr's Ultra paint with primer (oooh, creamy paint I love).

I love to paint.

Yeah, so this is not a "ta da, this room is finished" photo.
But the walls look pretty.

I have never really *loved* this bedding...so it's destruction and reformation is my next project...

...using pretty canvas (aka a new painting drop cloth)....

Yeah, if you're wondering if I'm crazy you're in good company.
Curt was apprehensive about my idea, but he's pretty pleased about how it's coming together, I can't wait to show you!

Having color on the wall sure helps the white furniture to pop.

We have a room that is almost exactly that color. I sm obsessed with blue gray! I was way impressed with Martga Stewarts paint colors also. They feel way more design color versus everything else that's out there. Great job. I can't wait to see the finished product!

One time I painted the alcove in our bedroom... then Casey REpainted it a few days later. That should tell you how horrible I am at painting walls.

It's because it totally would be unfair if you could paint paintings AND walls extremely well ;)
